The news comes after the show was\u00a0nominated for best comedy series at the Golden Globes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cI\u2019m excited to continue growing my collaboration with FX and have the opportunity to champion more Indigenous voices and stories,\u201d Harjo said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Under the deal, Harjo will continue to serve as writer, director, executive producer, and showrunner on \u201cReservation Dogs\u201d while also developing new projects for FX. He is already developing a new untitled limited series that he will co-write with novelist Jonathan Lee and executive produce alongside Garrett Basch. Harjo would also direct the project.\u00a0<em>Variety<\/em>\u00a0exclusively reported\u00a0earlier in December that the project is believed to be a heist story with a Native female lead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div id=\"adm-inline-article-ad-1\" class=\"admz\">\n<div class=\"adma boomerang\" data-device=\"Desktop\" data-width=\"300\">\n<div class=\"pmc-adm-boomerang-pub-div ad-text\">\n<div id=\"gpt-variety-article-mid-article-uid0\" class=\"adw-300 adh-250\" data-is-adhesion-ad=\"\" data-google-query-id=\"CLWZhfnp4fQCFUvydwodTw8Fmg\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201c\u2019Reservation Dogs\u2019 is brilliant and can\u2019t return soon enough,\u201d said Nick Grad, president of original programming for FX. \u201cWe believe in Sterlin\u2019s unique vision and welcome this opportunity to continue to partner with him in bringing more great TV to FX.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cReservation Dogs\u201d was renewed for a second season\u00a0back in September ahead of its first season finale. The show follows four Indigenous teens living in rural Oklahoma. Harlo co-created the series with Taika Waititi, who is also an executive producer. The show has received widespread praise since its debut, including being chosen as\u00a0one of the best TV shows of 2021 by\u00a0<em>Variety.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Harjo is of Seminole and Muscogee Creek heritage and is an Oklahoma native. In addition to his work on \u201cReservation Dogs,\u201d he has directed three narrative feature films and two documentaries. His most recent film was the documentary \u201cLove and Fury,\u201d which is described as a look at contemporary Native identity and art.
