{"id":14166,"date":"2021-11-12T02:47:56","date_gmt":"2021-11-11T23:17:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blue-subtitle.com\/blog\/?p=14166"},"modified":"2021-11-12T02:47:56","modified_gmt":"2021-11-11T23:17:56","slug":"moma-cinecitta-unveil-federico-fellini-retrospective-exclusive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blue-subtitle.com\/blog\/moma-cinecitta-unveil-federico-fellini-retrospective-exclusive\/","title":{"rendered":"MoMA, Cinecitt\u00e0 Unveil Federico Fellini Retrospective (EXCLUSIVE)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Museum of Modern Art and Cinecitt\u00e0 announced that\u00a0Federico Fellini, a retrospective honoring the Italian director, will run from Dec. 1 to Jan. 12, 2022 at\u00a0MoMA\u2019s Debra and Leon Black Family Film Center in the Roy and Niuta Titus Theaters.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The retrospective will open with \u201cI Vitelloni,\u201d Fellini\u2019s semi-autobiographical 1953 film translating to \u201cThe Young and the Passionate\u201d in English, as well as the U.S. premiere of Cinecitt\u00e0\u2019s 4K restoration of 1954\u2019s \u201cLa Strada,\u201d which won the first-ever Academy Award for foreign language film. The closing film will be 1980\u2019s \u201cLa Citt\u00e0 Delle Donne,\u201d or \u201cCity of Women.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Federico Fellini is organized by La Frances Hui, MoMA\u2019s curator in the department of film, as well as Cinecitt\u00e0\u2019s Camilla Cormanni and Paola Ruggiero.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cThere is no better tribute to a cinema titan like Fellini than a complete retrospective of all his films fully restored in 4K,\u201d Hui said. \u201cAudiences, especially younger ones who were never exposed to his filmography, will be given the opportunity to view the films for the first time on the big screen. We are honored to present this retrospective with Cinecitt\u00e0, the iconic Rome studio where most of Fellini\u2019s films were shot. Over many decades his distinct visions were realized on the soundstages of Cinecitt\u00e0 and it is a privilege to celebrate this relationship here at MoMA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Fellini, who lived from 1920 to 1993, emerged as a director and screenwriter during the Italian neorealist movement of the post-World War II era.
