The film stars\u00a0Lucy Hale\u00a0(\u201cTruth or Dare,\u201d \u201cPretty Little Liars\u201d),\u00a0Nicholas Gonzalez\u00a0(\u201cThe Good Doctor,\u201d \u201cNarcos\u201d), Olivia Trujillo (\u201cVivo,\u201d \u201cFor All Mankind\u201d) and Leynar G\u00f3mez (\u201cNarcos,\u201d \u201cTowards the Battle\u201d). Hale also serves as an executive producer on the film alongside Tucci &amp; Company, Garrett Patten, Frank Harris and Michael Gooch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBorrego\u201d follows Elly (Hale), a young botanist who relocates to a small desert town to study an invasive plant species, and is kidnapped by an inexperienced drug mule (G\u00f3mez) after his ultralight plane crashes in the desert. A local sheriff (Gonzalez) is drawn into the hunt alongside his rebellious daughter (Trujillo). They all become entangled in the drug underworld of the Mexico-U.S. border.<\/p>\n<div class=\"&quot;GoogleActiveViewInnerContainer&quot;style=&quot;left:0px;top:0px;width:100%;height:100%;position:fixed;pointer-events:none;z-index:-9999;&quot;\">\n<p>Damiano Tucci, Tiziano Tucci, Greg Lauritano, Nancy Cartwright and Monica Gil-Rodriguez produced the film, which was shot in southern Spain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to bring this suspenseful, action-packed ride to audiences,\u201d Saban Films\u2019 Bill Bromiley said in a statement. \u201cLucy Hale is terrific in a role which is unlike anything she has done before, and she shines under Jesse Harris\u2019 masterful direction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The deal was negotiated by Bromiley for Saban Films and Damiano Tucci on behalf of the filmmakers.
