The\u00a0New Zealand International Film Festival\u00a0(NZIFF) has revealed 12 local titles that will play at the festival this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The films include eight documentaries, two dramas and two retrospective films. Seven of them are world premieres. Following its U.S. premiere on\u00a0HBO Max, Jan Oliver Lucks\u2019 \u201cThere Is No I in Threesome\u201d will have its theatrical world premiere at the festival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Selections also include Michelle Savill\u2019s \u201cMillie Lies Low\u201d; Luit Bieringa\u2019s \u201cSigned, Theo Schoon\u201d; Peter Bell Brook\u2019s \u201cMark Hunt: The Fight of His Life\u201d; and Lula Cucchiara \u201cFiona Clark: Unafraid.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Briar March\u2019s \u201cMothers of the Revolution\u201d; a restored and remastered version of pioneering filmmaker Merata Mita\u2019s landmark film \u201cPatu!\u201d; Tu Neill\u2019s \u201cAyukawa: The Weight of a Life\u201d; John Mills and Aileen O\u2019Sullivan\u2019s \u201cWhetu Marama \u2013 Bright Star\u201d; Kathleen Gallagher\u2019s \u201cRohe K\u014dreporepo \u2013 The Swamp, the Sacred Place\u201d and Dr. Annie Goldson\u2019s \u201cA Mild Touch of Cancer\u201d; and a new colorized version of Florian Habicht\u2019s debut feature \u201cWoodenhead\u201d round off the selection.<\/span><\/p>\n

NZIFF 2021 opens in Auckland Oct, 28, followed by Christchurch on Oct.29, with Wellington and Dunedin following a week later. The remaining nine centers span November and the first week of December.<\/span><\/p>\n
