The ceremony, on Oct. 8, 2021, will operate in a hybrid form combining on-site attendance in Busan and online participation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In 2020, the 14th Asian Film Awards moved to Busan for the first time and was held online due to COVID-19 restrictions. In previous years, the ceremony was held in Hong Kong and Macau.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Those nominated for best director included\u00a0Zhang Yimou\u00a0(for \u201cOne Second\u201d), Lee Joon-ik (for \u201cThe Book of Fish\u201d), Hamaguchi Ryusuke (for \u201cWheel of Fortune and Fantasy\u201d), Kurosawa Kiyoshi (for \u201cWife of a Spy\u201d) and Kazakhstan\u2019s Adilkhan Yerzhanov (for \u201cYellow Cat\u201d).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div id=\"adm-inline-article-ad-1\" class=\"admz\">\n<div class=\"adma boomerang\" data-device=\"Desktop\" data-width=\"300\">\n<div class=\"pmc-adm-boomerang-pub-div ad-text\">\n<div>\n<div id=\"aniBox\">\n<div id=\"aniplayer_selectJS756300416\">\n<div id=\"aniplayer_selectJS756300416gui\">\n<div class=\"av-pos-top-left\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">But it was another Zhang Yimou film, \u201cCliff Walkers,\u201d which was not nominated in either best film or best director category, that was nevertheless the most nominated picture.
